The Well Engineering & Drilling Specialist provides the operational expertise and managerial leadership required to plan and execute development, appraisal, and exploratory drilling activities, as well as all well work operations (onshore, swamp, or offshore). The role ensures effective delivery of drilling services and works closely with the client to secure all necessary engineering support, materials, logistics, and operational resources to achieve safe, efficient, and cost-effective well operations.

Main Responsibilities:

Ensures all the required planning for a successful Well drilling and completion are in place
Supervises drilling engineers in directing the day-to-day operation of client’s drilling rigs.
Establishes operations priorities and plans and schedules the operations to ensure that personnel, equipment, supplies, and services are available when needed.
Assists the client in developing drilling performance goals and shares responsibility in meeting these goals.
Establishes, manages, and responsible for the team's forward operating base.
Continuously monitors drilling execution and develops operational improvements.
Reviews and coordinates Drilling programmes and operating procedures and evaluation programs provided by the Exploration manager.
Prepares and reviews the performance of Drilling Engineers.
Regularly visits the drilling rig to determine that drilling programs and operating procedures are implemented safely and effectively.

Well Planning

Trajectory modeling (vertical, directional, horizontal)
Casing and tubing design
Drill string configuration
Risk and contingency planning

Well Testing & Evaluation

Surface and downhole testing
Multiphase flow rate measurement
Pressure and temperature profiling
Fluid sampling and analysis
Formation testing and pressure transient analysis

Well Intervention

Coiled tubing and snubbing operations
Wireline logging and fishing
Scale and paraffin removal

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

B.Sc. Degree in Engineering discipline.
8-10 years of experience in Reservoir engineering, Production Engineering, Well intervention, Production programming, Drilling, and Field development.
Well Site Supervisory experience and operational knowledge.
Broad Knowledge and Experience in Petroleum Engineering Practice.
Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SQL, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
Project management and team leadership skills/experience
Valid supervisor level Well control certificate (Surface/Floating – combined).
In depth knowledge of horizontal, deviated drilling, mud engineering, casing design, completions design and well testing.
