TikTok Lead at Pulse NG
Pulse.ng is Nigeria’s popular news platform online highlighting the entertainment, style, and news that are part of and the West African DNA.We are looking for a TikTok Lead who will take full ownership of Pulse’s TikTok presence and transform it into one of the most engaging channels in Africa. This role combines creative vision, hands-on production, and sharp audience instincts.
As TikTok Lead, you will be the heartbeat of Pulse’s short-form video strategy — defining how we present ourselves on TikTok, producing standout content, and ensuring our channel resonates directly with Africa’s young and fast-paced audiences.
This is not a backseat role. We're looking for someone who is well-versed in TikTok culture, can identify trends before they take off, and has the creativity to transform them into fresh, original content that only Pulse can deliver.
You’ll work closely with our social, video, and editorial teams to turn stories, entertainment, and cultural moments into TikToks that spark conversations.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
Create and manage a TikTok-first strategy that drives growth and cultural relevance for Pulse.
Build a consistent content calendar that combines daily trends with Pulse-original formats.
Work with the Head of Social Content to ensure TikTok aligns with Pulse’s wider social strategy.
Content Creation
Ideate, script, shoot, edit, and publish TikToks — with speed and creative flair.
Collaborate with videographers, designers, and editors for higher-production content.
Develop repeatable, signature formats that build loyalty with followers
Be the creative driver — and optionally, an on-camera presence — for the channel.
Community & Engagement
Define and maintain Pulse’s TikTok tone of voice — bold, witty, and youth-focused.
Actively engage in comments, duets, and conversations to foster a sense of community.
Partner with creators, influencers, and cultural figures to amplify Pulse’s reach.
Performance & Growth
Track TikTok analytics to learn what works and sharpen future content.
Experiment with posting times, hooks, and formats to maximise reach.
Share insights with the wider social and growth team to drive cross-channel learning and growth.
Requirements
2–4 years’ experience building TikTok (or similar short-form video) channels.
Deep understanding of TikTok culture, algorithm dynamics, and youth trends.
Proven track record of creating videos that perform at scale.
Video editing skills (CapCut, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, or similar).
Creative instincts — bold ideas, quick thinking, and strong storytelling.
Comfortable both in front of and behind the camera.
Ability to use analytics to guide decision-making.
Bonus: experience with influencer collaboration, branded content, or entertainment/media.
