ipNX Nigeria Limited is a leading provider of infrastructure-based Telecommunications and Information Technology services here in Nigeria. Leveraging more than a decade of experience, the company was formed by the divestment of the telecommunications services division of Telnet Nigeria Limited and has been in operation for many years. ipNX currently provides a range of communications and IT services to Corporate organizations within Nigeria on its IP (Internet Protocol) based communications network using both radio and satellite communications technologies. As part of its growth strategy, ipNX seeks to also extend its services to small and medium sized businesses and residential customers. In the long term, ipNX has determined that it needs also to have a strategic presence in the wire line market to ensure that we will be able to provide future services, which require high bandwidth in the last mile.
We're looking for a Solutions & Research Engineer to join our Engineering Division. This role blends technical support, infrastructure design, and cutting-edge research to deliver high-performance solutions across our retail network.
Your Responsibilities:
Restore service failures (Corporate: <4hrs, Retail: <24hrs)
Design and implement FTTH monitoring applications to improve fault recovery
Conduct preventive maintenance and optimize network uptime
Research and implement new technologies to enhance ipNX products
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver customer-centric solutions
Prepare and maintain network documentation, MOPs, and performance reports
Provide technical support across provisioning, installation, and surveillance
Your expected qualifications:
BEng in Computer Engineering, Electrical Electronics, or related IT field (2.2/Upper Credit minimum)
3+ years experience in FTTH, OSP/ISP fiber infrastructure, and network support
Certifications: CCNA, CCNP (AWS, CISSP, CCDP, CCIE are a plus)
Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN design, routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, RIP), and core network device configuration
Experience with CAD, GIS, DWDM, and network monitoring tools
Proven ability to present technical concepts and manage stakeholder expectations
