We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage all aspects of cost planning, estimation, and financial control for construction and infrastructure projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed within budget, comply with legal and quality standards, and deliver maximum value for money. The Quantity Surveyor will work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and contractors throughout the lifecycle of a project—from early feasibility to final account.

Key Responsibilities
Cost Planning & Estimation:

Prepare detailed cost plans and budgets at concept, schematic, and detailed design stages.
Estimate project costs based on drawings, specifications, and market rates.
Assist in value engineering exercises to optimize project value within budget constraints

Tendering & Procurement:

Prepare and issue tender documentation including Bills of Quantities (BOQ), specifications, and contract conditions.
Evaluate contractor and supplier bids based on cost, compliance, and risk.
Conduct tender negotiations and assist in contract award recommendations

Contract Administration:

Draft and manage contracts in accordance with standard forms (e.g., FIDIC, NEC, JCT).
Monitor contractual obligations and ensure all stakeholders comply.
Maintain updated records of correspondence, change orders, and approvals.

Measurement & Valuation:

Perform quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.
Measure and value variations and change orders accurately.
Verify work completed on-site for interim and final payments.

Cost Control & Reporting:

Track project expenditure and compare it to budgets and forecasts.
Prepare and issue periodic cost reports to project stakeholders.
Identify and mitigate cost overruns and advise on corrective actions.

Payments & Cash Flow Management:

Prepare interim payment applications and certify payments to contractors and vendors.
Monitor project cash flow and forecast future financial requirements.
Reconcile payments with work done and contractual milestones.

Change Management:

Identify, quantify, and price project variations.
Maintain change order logs and obtain necessary approvals.
Negotiate cost implications with contractors and clients.

Risk Management:

Identify commercial and contractual risks in design and execution.
Quantify risk impact and include contingency allowances in estimates.
Propose strategies to manage or transfer risk.

Final Accounts & Closeout:

Prepare and agree on final accounts with contractors and suppliers.
Ensure that all contractual matters are resolved before project closure.
Document lessons learned and prepare post-project cost analyses.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, architects, and finance teams.
Attend progress meetings and provide commercial input to project decisions.
Serve as a liaison between the client, consultants, and contractors on financial matters.

Legal & Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure compliance with local construction laws, tax codes, and procurement policies.
Provide input on dispute resolution and claims avoidance.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction contracts and industry standard

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum [3–5] years of relevant experience in quantity surveying or commercial project management.
Strong working knowledge of estimating software and tools
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and project management tools.
Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and organizational capabilities.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Professional membership or certification (e.g., MRICS, AIQS, CIQS, or equivalent).
Experience working on [infrastructure / high-rise buildings / residential / civil] projects.
Knowledge of local construction laws and cost databases.
Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and 5D estimation.
