We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Food Control Officer to oversee and maintain food safety, hygiene, and quality standards across our retail operations.
The ideal candidate will ensure that all food products—both fresh and packaged—meet regulatory, company, and consumer standards from receipt to display.
This role is vital in ensuring customer satisfaction, brand integrity, and compliance with NAFDAC, SON, and other food safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Inspect and monitor the quality of all food items (fresh, frozen, packaged, and cooked).
Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations at all times.
Monitor food storage conditions, temperature, labeling, and expiry dates.
Conduct routine checks on suppliers and received goods to ensure quality compliance.
Oversee cleaning and sanitation procedures in food handling areas.
Investigate customer complaints related to product quality and recommend corrective actions.
Maintain proper documentation of inspection findings, temperature logs, and compliance reports.
Work closely with procurement and store teams to prevent contamination or spoilage.
Train and sensitize staff on food hygiene, safety, and proper handling procedures.
Support periodic audits and ensure continuous improvement of food safety systems.

Qualifications and Requirements

B.Sc. / HND in Food Science, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.
2–3 years’ experience in food quality assurance or food safety (preferably in a retail or FMCG environment).
Solid knowledge of food hygiene regulations and quality control procedures.
Familiarity with HACCP, GMP, and ISO 22000 standards is an advantage.
Strong analytical, documentation, and reporting skills.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Good communication and team coordination skills.
Must reside within or around Lekki / Victoria Island.

Working Hours:

Full-Time (including weekends and public holidays as required).
