Production Planner – Food Manufacturing at Apple and Pears Limited
Apple & Pears Limited was incorporated in the year 2012 as an Agro-Allied & Food Industry to produce soya meal, concentrate and finished feed for the poultry industry, and refined edible oil, mayonnaise, ketchup, salad cream, vinegar, and custard powder for the Nigerian market.We are a reputable and rapidly expanding food manufacturing company, committed to delivering high-quality products to our consumers through operational excellence and efficient supply chain management. We are seeking a Production Planner who is detail-oriented, analytical, and passionate about inventory control and production coordination to join our team in Sagamu.
Job Summary
The Production Planner will be responsible for developing and maintaining production schedules, ensuring optimal inventory levels of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods. The role involves close coordination with procurement, production, and warehouse teams to ensure efficient material flow and product availability while minimizing waste and stockouts.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, update, and execute daily and weekly production plans in alignment with demand forecasts and production targets.
Maintain optimum inventory levels for raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods to support continuous production.
Conduct regular cycle counts and inventory reconciliations to ensure stock accuracy.
Monitor and track stock movement between warehouse and production areas.
Generate and maintain inventory and production performance reports for management review.
Collaborate with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure timely replenishment of materials.
Analyze inventory trends and consumption data to support forecasting and capacity planning.
Identify and report potential material shortages, variances, or discrepancies.
Support process improvement initiatives to enhance inventory accuracy and production efficiency.
Ensure compliance with food safety, quality assurance, and HSE standards in all planning activities.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum of OND/HND/B.Sc. in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Food Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
At least 1 year of relevant experience in production planning or inventory control within a food or beverage manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of inventory management systems and production scheduling principles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software applications.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and forecasting skills.
High level of attention to detail and accuracy in data management.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Must reside in or be willing to relocate to Sagamu — proximity is a key requirement.
