The Production Officer plays a key role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the factory’s assembly lines and production systems. They oversee daily production processes, maintain quality standards, and ensure products are completed within set timelines. Responsibilities include checking for defects, assembling products, operating and monitoring machinery, and adhering strictly to safety procedures to prevent accidents in environments where materials may pose risks.
The role also supports the end-to-end production process — from procurement of fresh raw materials (such as tomatoes and okra) to processing, packaging, and quality control — ensuring that all operations align with the organization’s quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Operate and monitor production equipment efficiently.
Maintain and service production machines to ensure smooth operation.
Assemble and fit machinery parts as required.
Load and process raw materials (e.g., fresh tomatoes, okra) according to production needs.
Package finished products in line with quality and safety standards.
Meet daily production targets and deadlines during assigned shifts.
Identify and promptly report defective products or equipment malfunctions.
Support procurement and inspection of raw materials, ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
Conduct quality checks throughout production to maintain company standards.
Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintain proper documentation.
Keep the production area clean, organized, and hazard-free.
Monitor stock levels and report deficiencies in materials.
Assist in troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of equipment.

Requirements

B.Sc. in Food Science and Technology, Food Production, or a related field.
2–3 years’ experience in food processing or manufacturing, preferably with fresh produce.
Strong knowledge of production workflow, quality control, and raw material procurement.
Ability to operate and maintain production machinery safely.
Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety principles
Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Physically fit and safety-conscious with attention to detail.
