The Pre-Commissioning Lead will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all pre-commissioning activities for the KP00–KP10 Pipeline Project.
The role ensures that systems are mechanically complete, tested, and ready for commissioning in compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all pre-commissioning activities for the KP00–KP10 pipeline segment, including cleaning, gauging, hydro-testing, drying, pigging, and reinstatement.
Develop and implement pre-commissioning procedures, checklists, and method statements in line with project specifications and industry standards.
Coordinate with construction, QA/QC, HSE, and commissioning teams to ensure safe and efficient execution.
Prepare detailed pre-commissioning schedules, manpower plans, and resource allocation.
Ensure readiness of equipment, tools, and consumables required for pre-commissioning works.
Supervise subcontractors and vendors involved in pre-commissioning works.
Verify documentation such as test packs, punch lists, system handover dossiers, and ensure closure of pre-commissioning punch items.
Report progress, risks, and issues to the Project Manager / Commissioning Manager on a daily/weekly basis.
Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and promote a safe working culture during all pre-commissioning activities.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and technicians in the pre-commissioning team.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Petroleum, Chemical, or related Engineering discipline.
Minimum of 8–10 years’ experience in pipeline pre-commissioning and commissioning within the oil & gas sector.
Proven track record in pipeline hydro-testing, cleaning, drying, and pigging operations.
Strong knowledge of international codes, standards, and project specifications (ASME, API, ISO, etc.).
Familiarity with pre-commissioning software, reporting tools, and test documentation.
Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
