Conduct comprehensive diagnostic tests in hematology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, serology, immunology, and molecular diagnostics in accordance with Tonia Medical Diagnostics’ protocols.
Validate and interpret laboratory test results accurately, providing critical data to physicians and healthcare providers for patient management.
Supervise and guide junior scientists, laboratory technologists, and interns, ensuring adherence to best practices.
Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory analyzers and equipment (e.g., chemistry analyzers, hematology counters, PCR machines) to guarantee reliable performance.
Implement and monitor internal quality control (IQC) and participate in external quality assurance (EQA) schemes to ensure the integrity of laboratory results.
Assist the Laboratory Manager in developing and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) specific to Tonia Medical Diagnostics Services.
Maintain laboratory inventory by coordinating the timely procurement of reagents, consumables, and other essential supplies.
Ensure strict compliance with laboratory safety protocols, waste management practices, and biosafety standards to maintain a safe working environment.
Collaborate with clinicians and consulting specialists by offering professional insights on unusual or critical test outcomes.
Participate in laboratory audits, accreditation activities (such as ISO 15189), and continuous process improvement initiatives.
Stay informed on technological advances in diagnostics and recommend innovative practices beneficial to the centre.

Requirements
Education and Qualifications:

Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) or equivalent from a recognized institution.
Current practicing license from the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
Relevant postgraduate certification or ongoing professional development is an added advantage.

Experience:

Minimum of 2 – 3years practical experience in diagnostic laboratory services.
Prior experience working in a high-volume, multi-disciplinary diagnostic centre preferred.
Evidence of participation in laboratory audits, quality improvement programs, and equipment management.

Required Skills and Competencies:

Strong proficiency with diagnostic equipment and techniques used at Tonia Medical Diagnostics Services.
Exceptional analytical skills with an eye for detail and accuracy in performing and interpreting tests.
Leadership and team supervision skills with the ability to train and mentor less experienced staff.
Sound knowledge of laboratory information systems (LIS) and digital record-keeping.
Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with healthcare professionals.
Commitment to ethical laboratory practice and confidentiality of patient information.
