Key duties include conducting field surveys with advanced equipment, collaborating with architects and engineers, interpreting legal and historical land records, ensuring regulatory compliance, and producing accurate site documentation.
The role requires a strong understanding of surveying technology, legal principles, and spatial data to inform building design and ensure projects align with specifications and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Field Surveys and Data Collection: Conduct surveys to measure land features, determine property lines, and collect spatial data using equipment like GPS, total stations, and 3D scanners.
Data Analysis and Documentation: Analyze survey data, perform calculations to determine elevations and volumes, and prepare detailed reports, maps, sketches, and legal descriptions.
Collaboration and Consultation: Work closely with architects, engineers, and construction teams to provide accurate land assessments, inform design decisions, and ensure projects are built according to plans.
Legal and Historical Research: Research legal records, land titles, and historical survey information to understand property context and ensure compliance with zoning laws and building codes.
Project Support: Support the design and construction process by providing site plans, ensuring accurate placement of structures, and advising on land development based on survey results.
Quality Assurance: Verify the accuracy of survey data and reports to ensure they meet legal and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Education: Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Surveying or a related field
Technical Proficiency: Expertise in operating advanced surveying equipment and using relevant software, such as CAD programs, Trimble Business Center, Leica Geo Office, Mapits, etc.
Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret complex data, analyze land features, and understand engineering and architectural drawings.
Legal Knowledge: Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements for land surveys, including property boundaries and building codes.
