Human Resources Manager at Borno Women Development Initiative (BOWDI)
Borno Women Development Initiative (BOWDI) is a women-led, registered Nongovernmental, Non-profit Organization with its head office in Borno State, Nigeria. BOWDI has been active in Humanitarian and development activities in the Northeast, especially in education, peace-building, advocacy, food security, livelihood, and protection.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement HR policies that promote fairness, inclusivity, safeguarding, and staff well-being.
Lead recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes, ensuring diversity and equal opportunity.
Oversee training and professional development initiatives for staff capacity building.
Ensure compliance with Nigerian labor laws, donor requirements, and internal HR policies.
Manage payroll, benefits administration, and staff welfare programs.
Provide HR support during project implementation and emergency responses.
Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and respect across all BOWDI teams.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s/MBA is an advantage).
Professional HR certification (CIPM, SHRM, ACIHRM, or equivalent).
Minimum of 5 years progressive HR experience, preferably within the NGO/humanitarian sector.
Strong knowledge of labor laws, donor compliance, safeguarding, and protection principles.
Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and cross-cultural communication skills.
