To provide strategic leadership and oversight of all engineering construction activities, with responsibility for planning, execution, supervision, and quality assurance of road and building projects.
The role ensures projects are delivered within scope, cost, time, and quality requirements, while driving innovation, safety, and compliance with engineering and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Provide overall leadership and direction for engineering and construction projects from initiation to completion.
Develop and implement project strategies, execution frameworks, and technical standards.
Oversee site supervision and project execution, ensuring compliance with approved designs, specifications, and industry standards.
Review and approve designs, technical/ construction documentation, method statements, and inspection/test plans (ITPs).
Provide mentorship, coaching, and technical support to engineers, project managers, and site staff.
Lead quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) processes across all construction activities.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring delivery within budget, time, and quality expectations.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to project managers, engineers, and site staff.
Liaise with clients, consultants, regulators, and other stakeholders to resolve technical, contractual, and operational matters.
Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and company policies.
Monitor project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and adoption of modern engineering practices.
Prepare weekly executive-level reports and provide strategic recommendations to management.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: B.Sc./B.Eng. in Civil Engineering or related field (M.Sc./MBA is an added advantage).
Professional Certification: COREN, NSE, or equivalent recognized professional registration.
Minimum of 15 years’ progressive experience in road and building construction management, with hands-on site engineering background.
Proven track record in site supervision, project execution, and compliance with engineering standards.
Strong leadership and team management capabilities, with experience leading multi-disciplinary teams.
Advanced knowledge of construction methodologies, project management frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
Proficiency in engineering/project management software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Project, Primavera, etc.).
Excellent negotiation, communication, and decision-making skills.
