We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to support our pharmacy operations. The successful candidate will assist the pharmacist in dispensing medications, managing inventory, counselling patients on proper drug use, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The role requires accuracy, good communication skills, and a strong sense of responsibility in handling medicines.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the pharmacist in preparing, packaging, and dispensing prescription and over-the-counter medications.
Verify prescriptions for accuracy and completeness before processing.
Provide basic medication counselling to patients under the supervision of a pharmacist.
Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stocking medications and supplies.
Label medications with correct dosage instructions and usage warnings.
Maintain accurate patient medication records and update them as required.
Monitor drug storage conditions to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Assist with billing, processing payments, and maintaining daily sales records.
Support the pharmacist in ensuring regulatory compliance with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) and other relevant authorities.
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the pharmacy environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Pharmacy Technician Certificate from an accredited institution.
Certification: Current license/registration with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN).
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a hospital pharmacy.
Knowledge of drug names, dosage forms, and basic pharmacology.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
Ability to work under supervision and as part of a healthcare team.
Preferred Skills
Experience with pharmacy management software or POS systems.
Basic knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations and controlled drug handling.
Customer service skills with a patient-centered approach.
