Job Purpose
To ensure optimal performance, reliability, and maintenance of drilling and blasting equipment, plan, coordinate, and supervise all mechanical maintenance activities related to the fleet, thereby achieving safe and efficient mining operations.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee maintenance, inspection, and repair of drilling rigs, compressors, blast-hole drills, and related mechanical systems.
Develop preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for all drilling and blasting equipment.
Diagnose equipment faults and ensure timely corrective actions to minimize downtime.
Monitor equipment performance, fuel consumption, and component wear; recommend improvement measures.
Coordinate with operations and planning teams to align maintenance schedules with production targets.
Maintain records of maintenance activities, spares consumption, and equipment history.
Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and maintenance standards during all repair and service work.
Support in technical evaluation and commissioning of new drilling and blasting machinery.
Train and guide technicians and mechanics on proper maintenance procedures and safe equipment operations.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering.
3–6 years of experience in maintenance of drilling and blasting equipment in mining or heavy earthmoving industries.
Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and diesel engine systems.
Familiarity with OEM manuals, maintenance planning tools, and reliability improvement practices.
Excellent troubleshooting, leadership, and coordination skills.
Salary
N450,000 / Month.
