Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Cost Controller/Cost Analyst to join our team. This role is critical for ensuring effective cost management across our retail store, restaurant, and bakery operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in cost control within hotels, restaurants, bakeries, catering companies, or similar hospitality-related establishments — or have direct experience working with chefs and kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement cost control systems, policies, and procedures tailored to the restaurant, bakery, and retail environment.
Conduct detailed cost analysis for food, beverages, bakery items, and retail goods to identify variances and recommend corrective actions.
Monitor daily operational costs and ensure alignment with budgeted targets.
Prepare accurate and timely cost and variance reports to support management decisions.
Work closely with chefs, kitchen staff, procurement, finance, and operations teams to maintain up-to-date cost data.
Track inventory usage, wastage, and portion control, ensuring proper accountability and reporting.
Provide accurate cost information to support pricing strategies for menu and retail products.
Carry out cost audits and identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements.
Train and support staff on cost-control best practices and systems.
Ensure compliance with Nigerian financial and industry regulations.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Proven experience (minimum 3–5 years) as a Cost Controller or Cost Analyst in hotels, restaurants, bakeries, catering companies, or any other hospitality-related establishment.
Experience working directly with chefs or in kitchen cost control is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of cost control principles, budgeting, and financial reporting.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other cost management tools.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
Strong communication, collaboration, and reporting abilities.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Salary/Compensation:
â¦200,000 – â¦250,000 monthly (negotiable, based on experience and qualifications)
