Community Officer at The Congenital Heart Disease Foundation of Nigeria (CHDF)

CHDFNigeria is a non-profit organization that supports children and persons with Congenital Heart Disease popularly called Hole in the Heart in Nigeria. The foundation is envisioned to be the leading charity organization in Nigeria supporting the CHD cause.

Our mission “to create a paradigm shift in the current status of congenital heart disease in Nigeria through awareness campaign and advocacy; support; education and research promotion” states the 4 main areas we are focusing on to achieve our vision.Role Overview

The Communication Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies to promote CHDFNigeria’s mission, programs, and activities. The role involves content creation, media engagement, social media management, and internal communications.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute communication plans and campaigns.
Manage CHDFNigeria’s social media platforms and website content.
Draft press releases, newsletters, and promotional materials.
Coordinate media relations and respond to public inquiries.
Support internal communication and documentation efforts.
Monitor and evaluate communication effectiveness.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a communications role.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in social media management and content creation.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Must reside in Lagos.
