Community Growth and Strategy Lead at She Code Africa
She Code Africa is a registered non-profit organisation empowering girls and women across Africa with technical and soft skills needed to match or scale their careers in STEM With a mission to bring in more girls and women in Africa into technology through our offline hands-on-training and events focused on all aspects of technology while also giving a platform and voice to existing members helping them grow technically.Role Summary
We are seeking a strategic and dynamic Community Growth & Strategy Lead to drive the expansion and engagement of She Code Africa’s community. This role will be primarily based in Lagos, Nigeria but remote and will be responsible for leading high-impact community initiatives, building strong stakeholder relationships, and developing innovative strategies to expand our thriving, inclusive community culture.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with at least 4 – 5 years of experience in community management, community strategy who is passionate about scaling impact through community-led growth.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the execution of high-impact community initiatives and programs.
Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to drive community growth.
Develop and implement community policies, guidelines, and best practices.
Ensure seamless communication and collaboration between community members.
Represent She Code Africa at external events, speaking engagements, and industry forums.
Oversee a team of community managers and manages multiple community initiatives.
Develop and implement innovative strategies to enhance community engagement and build a strong community culture.
Collaborate with other teams to integrate community feedback into program development and product design.
Provide leadership and mentorship to junior community managers
Required Skills & Qualifications
5-6 years of relevant experience in community management, program strategy, or stakeholder engagement, ideally within a nonprofit, tech, or social impact organization.
Proven track record of leading large-scale community initiatives and building sustainable engagement strategies.
Strong leadership skills, with experience managing and mentoring teams.
Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, with confidence representing an organization at events and industry forums.
Experience developing and implementing community guidelines, policies, and best practices.
Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to foster collaboration across diverse groups.
Ability to translate community feedback into actionable program or product improvements.
Strategic thinker with a data-driven approach to measuring community growth and engagement.
Familiarity with digital community platforms, tools, and trends.
Strong alignment with She Code Africa’s mission and values.
