The Head of Procurement will be responsible for leading, developing, and executing the procurement strategy to ensure cost-effective purchasing, supplier management, and contract negotiations.
This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to drive efficiency while ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.

Responsibilites
Strategic Procurement & Planning:

Contribute to the development and drive implementation of a robust procurement strategy aligned with FrieslandCampina’s objecives
Drive cost optimization through strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and process improvements.
Monitor industry trends, risks, and opportunities to strengthen procurement practices.

Supplier & Vendor Management:

Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure quality, reliability, and competitiveness.
Evaluate, negotiate, and manage contracts, ensuring favorable terms and compliance.
Lead supplier performance reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Operations & Process Optimization:

Oversee procurement operations across all categories (direct and indirect spend).
Ensure timely availability of materials, products, and services while minimizing risk and cost.
Implement technology and tools to improve procurement efficiency, transparency, and reporting.

Governance, Compliance & Risk Management:

Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, legal, and regulatory requirements.
Establish and monitor KPIs for procurement performance.
Manage risks related to supply chain disruptions, pricing volatility, and contractual obligations.

Leadership & Team Development:

Lead and mentor the procurement team, fostering a culture of high performance and accountability.
Promote collaboration with finance, operations, supply chain, and other business units.
Drive capability development within the procurement function.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree or MBA is an advantage).
Professional certifications (e.g., CIPS) strongly preferred.
Minimum of 10 – 12 years of progressive procurement/supply chain experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Proven track record in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and cost optimization.
Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, contract law, and compliance requirements.
Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
Strong analytical mindset with proficiency in procurement systems/ERP tools.
