Business Manager – Freight Forwarding at Renda Limited

The Business Manager – Freight Forwarding will lead and expand Renda’s Clearing and Forwarding operations in Nigeria, driving growth and establishing a strong footprint across the West African region. This role will be responsible for developing and executing Renda’s freight forwarding strategy, implementing Surface, Ocean, and Air product procurement initiatives, and ensuring alignment with trade lane and regional strategies.
The ideal candidate is commercially driven, operationally excellent, and adept at building partnerships that strengthen Renda’s market position as a leading player in West African freight logistics.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic and Business Development

Drive new business and revenue growth by building a strong client and partner pipeline.
Strengthen Renda’s market presence by identifying strategic trade lanes and opportunities for expansion across West Africa.
Build, maintain, and leverage relationships with key industry partners, including clearing agents, shipping lines, and freight networks.

Operational Leadership

Lead day-to-day freight forwarding operations, including Ocean, Air, and Customs functions.
Develop and document efficient operational workflows to enhance service delivery and operational visibility.
Ensure compliance with regulatory, trade, and safety standards across all freight operations.

Financial and Performance Management

Take ownership of the regional P&L to ensure financial accountability and sustained profitability.
Track key financial metrics including revenue growth, gross margin, and cost-to-serve ratios.
Implement operational improvements to optimize efficiency and reduce overhead costs.

Key Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (MBA preferred).
Minimum of 7 years of experience in Freight Forwarding, Customs Brokerage, or International Logistics.
Proven success in business development and P&L management.
Deep understanding of customs regulations, international trade, and logistics operations within West Africa.
Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
