The Assistant MRO Manager will support the MRO Manager in planning, coordinating, and overseeing maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities for machinery, vehicles, and equipment used in the manufacturing process. The role ensures minimal downtime, optimal performance, and safety compliance of all operational assets while leading the maintenance team in executing preventive and corrective maintenance programs.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in managing and coordinating all MRO activities within the manufacturing plant.
Supervise maintenance personnel and ensure all repairs and servicing are carried out efficiently.
Support the planning and execution of preventive and corrective maintenance schedules.
Monitor equipment performance, diagnose faults, and recommend effective solutions.
Ensure proper documentation of maintenance records and reports.
Liaise with the procurement department for spare parts and maintenance materials.
Support the implementation of maintenance-related safety procedures and standards.
Assist in developing maintenance budgets and cost-saving initiatives.
Ensure that maintenance operations comply with quality, safety, and environmental standards.
Stand in for the MRO Manager in their absence when required.

Job Requirements

Education & Qualifications:

HND/B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field.
Professional certifications in Maintenance Management or Engineering (e.g., COREN, PMP, or CMRP) are an added advantage.

Experience:

4–6 years of relevant experience in maintenance or MRO operations, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Strong understanding of machinery, electrical systems, and production equipment.
Experience supervising technicians or maintenance teams.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment and maintenance procedures.
Excellent leadership and coordination skills.
Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in maintenance management systems or ERP tools.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail, integrity, and high sense of responsibility.
Knowledge of safety and quality control standards.
