Job Summary
Responsible for joining, repairing, and maintaining conveyor belts used in production or material handling systems.
Key Responsibilities
Perform hot and cold volcanizing of conveyor belts
Cut, shape and splice belts according to specifications.
Inspect belts for wear, damage or misalignment
Install belt fasteners, clips and laggings where necessary
Ensure conveyors run smoothly after maintenance or joining
Maintain records of belt repairs and replacements.
Follow safety protocols during belt joining operations
Requirements
Technical Certificate or Trade Test in Mechanical or related fields
3–5 years of practical experience in conveyor belt jointing, vulcanizing, and repair within an industrial or mining environment.
Good knowledge of belt alignment, splicing methods (hot and cold), and safety procedures during maintenance.
