We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Consultant, Accounts and Tax to provide high-quality accounting and tax advisory services to both the firm and its clients. The ideal candidate will manage tax computations, statutory remittances, financial reporting, and client relations, while ensuring full compliance with Nigerian tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare monthly budgets, trial balances, comparative financial statements, and bank reconciliation statements for clients and the company.
Liaise with clients to obtain necessary financial data for timely reporting and analysis.
Handle company and client tax matters including WHT, VAT, PAYE, and CIT computations, remittances, and returns.
Conduct audits and prepare accounts from incomplete records where necessary.
Maintain updated knowledge of tax laws, policies, and regulatory changes, and advise clients accordingly.
Train and develop junior staff and clients in accounting and tax-related areas.
Visit clients periodically to provide on-site accounting or tax support.
Collaborate with the Client Services Manager on business planning and cost estimation projects.
Supervise Associate Consultants to ensure timely and accurate service delivery.
Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) — mandatory.
Minimum of 7 years’ progressive experience in accounting, auditing, and tax practice, preferably within a consulting or professional services firm.
In-depth knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and compliance requirements (PAYE, WHT, VAT, and CIT).
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or Tally) and advanced Excel skills.
Proven experience in preparing and reviewing financial statements, budgets, and reconciliations.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for effective client management.
High integrity, attention to detail, and respect for confidentiality.
Experience delivering training in accounting and taxation will be an added advantage.
