The Tax and Regulatory compliance Executive is a strategic business partner in ensuring the businesses compliance with all applicable tax laws, financial regulations, and statutory requirements.
He/she is charged with managing tax filings, liaising with regulatory authorities, monitoring compliance obligations, and providing strategic advice to minimize tax risks while optimizing efficiency.

Tax Compliance:

Developing and implementing Business Tax Strategies that will support the overall Strategic focus of the business
Ensure timely payment of all tax liabilities and reconciliation with financial records.
Maintain proper documentation for tax audits and respond to queries from tax authorities.
Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations, advising management on implications for the business.
Support tax planning initiatives to optimize the organization’s tax position.

Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure compliance with all corporate governance, statutory filings, and regulatory requirements (CAC, FIRS, PENCOM, ITF, NSITF, etc.).
File annual returns and other statutory documents with relevant government agencies.
Maintain an up-to-date compliance calendar and ensure adherence to filing deadlines.
Liaise with regulators, external auditors, and tax consultants as required.
Conduct regular compliance reviews and risk assessments to identify potential gaps.

Reporting & Advisory:

Provide periodic reports to management on tax exposures, compliance risks, and regulatory updates.
Advise business units on compliance requirements for transactions, contracts, and projects.
Support internal stakeholders with regulatory interpretations and compliance guidance.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CITN) is an added advantage.
4–5 years of relevant experience in tax and regulatory compliance, preferably in a corporate or professional services environment.
Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and regulatory frameworks.
Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, etc.) is desirable.
