We are seeking a hardworking, responsible, and animal-loving Farm Hand to assist with the daily care and management of livestock and other animals on our farm.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the health, hygiene, and feeding of animals including cows, goats, rams, pigs, rabbits, and poultry.
Responsibilities
Feed livestock and other animals according to established routines and dietary needs.
Ensure animals always have clean, fresh water.
Observe animals daily for signs of illness, injury, or distress.
Report any issues promptly to the Livestock Supervisor or Farm Manager.
Assist in administering basic treatments (under supervision).
Clean pens, stalls, coops, and hutches regularly.
Maintain hygienic conditions in animal housing areas.
Assist during birthing periods and provide basic care for young animals.
Help track mating and birthing cycles.
Maintain simple records of feed, births, medication, and general observations.
Ensure animals are securely housed at night.
Report any damage to pens, fencing, or shelters.
Support with fencing, feed storage, and minor repairs.
Assist in moving animals as required.
Requirements
Previous experience working with livestock or animals is highly preferred.
Basic understanding of animal behaviour and farm hygiene practices.
Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Reliable, trustworthy, and able to work independently.
Must be comfortable living in a rural farm setting.
Ability to read and write basic English (or Hausa preferred but not required).
